Perforated metal ceiling guide

How perforated metal ceiling panels work.

A perforated ceiling panel is a finished module with a defined face, opening pattern, border and edge. The way it performs or is supported depends on the complete project construction.

Use the question to improve the brief.

These notes identify the information that should be confirmed with the project drawing, selected material and proposed ceiling construction. They do not replace engineering, system design or test evidence.

Key points

What to clarify before the panel is finalized.

Each point should be read with the actual panel drawing and project conditions.

The perforated face

The drawing should show the hole shape, hole size, pitch, layout direction and unperforated border. These details establish the visual appearance and the area left open by the pattern.

The finished module

Panel dimensions, folded returns, frames and visible joints define the finished module. A hole pattern without its border and edge does not define a ceiling panel.

The support interface

A ceiling carrier, grid or clip interface must be reviewed from actual section information. The panel page should not be treated as confirmation of a complete suspension system.
